Small is Beautiful is a feature length documentary about tiny houses.

Working with the director, the brief for the identity was to create a bold, clean, graphic look for the street posters and digital assets, with particular need for visual cut through on platforms like the iTunes store.

Playing with scale and embracing negative space (with inspiration drawn from a famous car ad), the solution is an expansive landscape with a tiny house illustration by Melissa Rachel Black nestled in front of the horizon. It gives a sense of openness that suggests the freedom experienced by tiny house owners.

The logo conveys the idea of construction (most tiny houses are self-built by their owners) with a version for the film title that hints at the small footprint of a tiny house.
